We have been learning a lot about the Native American tribes of our area.
Here is a voicethread by Margot and Taylor about some of the jewelry and decorations that they wore.

Dear Margot and Taylor,
I want to thank you for your highly informative report about the jewelry and decorations of the Native Americans. I thoroughly enjoyed all of the report, but I was especially impressed by how well organized it was, and by how slowly and clearly you spoke.
My favorite fascinating fact was that the men sometimes used shells to pluck out their hair one by one. Goodness gracious! That must have been seriously painful!
Thanks again, Margot and Taylor. It’s clear that you are devoted and serious scholars.
Sincerely,
Mr. Hamilton Salsich

Dear Taylor and Margot,
What a wonderful voicethread presentation.
You both spoke clearly, I really enjoy listening to you both.
What beautiful jewelery made by the Native Americans, to think some were made out of shells.
I found it very interesting that the Native Americans used the art of tattooing which is still used today.
Thank you for a great post.
Yours sincerely,
AA.

Dear Mr. Salsich,
I am so happy that the voice thread turned out well! I worked hard on recording and writing the whole voice thread. I think we should do more voice threads more often.
I think that the Native American art and decorations are very interesting. People should learn more about the songs and dances because when Taylor and I were reasearching that part we couldn`t find any information about those subjects.

Dear Margot and Taylor,
I thoroughly enjoyed your report on native American customs. It was well written, I liked the illustrations and hearing your voices was very engaging. I agree with Mr. Salsich regarding the method of plucking hairs out one by one, sheesh! Did that help them get ready for battle?
I also love the jewelry made from quahog shells.
Alexandra and I like to collect wampum shells on the beach, the more purple the better.
thanks again,
Alexandra’s mom

Dear Alexandra’s mom,
Thank you for the great comment. I agree the native American jewelry is very pretty. If they did sell it in stores I would buy it but it would be very expensive. You’re right the more purple the better. I also collect seashells but I don`t get purple. Plucking hairs out one by one would take a lot of time probably more than 2 hours. Yes, I can imagine Mr. Salsich plucking his hairs out one by one. Now that would waste time.
Happy Blogging

Dear Taylor and Margot,
You did a really nice job on the voice thread. I never knew that Native American men wore bird feathers on their head. I did not know that purple was the most rare color for beads. Everything that I learned was very interesting. I could understand everything that you were saying. Your recording was the best one I ever heard. I really liked your voice thread.
Sincerely,
Aleah

Dear Mr. Salsich class,
you did a good job on the native Americans about how they wore clothes and how they made clothes out of porcupine clothes. Also how they made jewelry.

Dear Margot and Taylor,
I think it is very interesting that the Indians don’t wear the belts. I think it is cool that they use them to tell stories.
