Third Grade Explorations in Learning
We have had a lot of visitors to our blog this year! Since the beginning of the school year in September, we have had over 52,000 visits!
More than half of those visits have come from the United States, but we have also had thousands of visitors from around the world. In fact, 143 different countries have checked out our blog this year.
Below are some screenshots of our visitors map (“ClustrMap”) before it got reset to zero last month. Since Flag day is coming up, we also had fun drawing flags from some of the countries that have visited us.
Most of our visits were from North America. 35,000 visits were from the U.S.A., and almost 6,000 were from Canada. Here are flags from a few of the North American countries that visited us:
*
We didn’t get a lot of visits from South America. Maybe that is because most of the countries there speak Spanish or Portuguese. Here are flags from some of our South American visitors:
*
As you can tell from the red dots on our ClustrMap, we had a lot of visits from people in Europe. Most of our European visitors were from the United Kingdom.
*
Many of our visitors from Africa were from the country of South Africa, where a lot of people also speak English.
*
In Asia, we had many visits from India. Hmm, can anyone guess what one of the main languages of India is?
*
It’s no surprise that we had a lot of visitors from the region of “Oceania” since our blogging buddies 4KM & 4KJ live in Australia, and B4 live in New Zealand. Also, English is the official language of many of the countries in this area.
*
Thank you to all the people that have visited our blog, left us comments, and helped us learn about the world!

Hi Mr Salsich’s Class,
The flag of the United Kingdom is a very difficult flag to draw correctly. It incorporates three separate crosses for England, Ireland and Scotland: see if you can see them.
England: St George’s cross – a red cross on a white background.
Scotland: St Andrew’s cross – a white diagonal cross on a blue background.
Northern Ireland: St Patrick’s cross – a red diagonal cross on a white background.
The flag represents the administrative union of the countries of the United Kingdom, but the (dragon) flag of Wales is not included: this is because Wales is a principality, not a kingdom.
The flag is called the Union Flag (or Union Jack) and can also be seen on the flags of a number of other countries – do you know which ones? Can you work out why?

Dear Mr Salsich and class,
Hello, I am Emily and I am in Mrs Morris’s class this year (4KM and 4KJ).
Wow what a wonderful post I really enjoyed looking at the post with our grade!
Here is what I think:
1. Of all the countries that we drew flags of, which one visited us the most?
The most visits were from the United Kindom with 6,502.
2. How many more visits did they have than the flag with the second most visits?
There was six hundred and sixty five visitors more (Canada with 5,837 was 2nd)
3. Which flag do you like the most? Why?
I really liked the Fiji flag because I think it is bright and colourful. Who drew the Fiji flag?
From you friend,
Em

Hi Mr Salsich and class,
I’m Georgia from 4KM and 4KJ. I love to blog!
The continent with the most is…
1st United Kingdom with 6,502
2nd Canada with 5,837
3rd Australia (Oceania) with 5,083
I don’t really notice anything in common with the flags but most of them have stripes. My favourite flag is the Argentina flag because I like the star, the blue and all the other colours.
I come from Australia (Oceania) and my flag symbolizes the England flag and five stars witch stand for our states.
Bye for now,
Georgia (4KM)

Dear Mr Salsich’s Class,
We think your blog is amazing.
The most visited Country was The United Kingdom, it had 6,502 visits.
The second most popular country was Canada with 5,837 visitors.
The United Kingdom had 665 more visits than Canada.
I (Zoe) like France the best because my mum’s family comes from France.
I (Olivia) like Italy the best, because my whole family comes from Italy.
No we don’t know any connections with both of our flags.
We are from a different country but not a visitor, we have lived in Australia since we were born.

Dear Mr.Salsich and class,
I really like the post!
My favorite part was when we got to walk over the waterfall. I liked this because, 1) I never knew there was a waterfall there, and 2) because waterfalls are very very pretty! I also liked the part at tthe end with the big net. I liked this part two because I was exited and never knew if there was a turtle or snake about to jump out!

Kayla
