Memories of Summer

Filed Under (Writing) by on September 17, 2012 and tagged ,

In writing we have been talking about how memories can give us great ideas to write about. We have also been working on using interesting, descriptive words (like “enormous“) in place of boring words (like “big“).

*

Here is a slideshow of some writing we did about special memories from this past summer. We tried to use at least four descriptive words in each piece.

*

*

What interesting, descriptive words did you like in our writing?

Have you done any of the same summer activities that we did?

    Dear Mr Salsich and Class,

What wonderful descriptions! I noticed a lot of fabulous vocabulary as I read through, and in particular I enjoyed reading ‘blindingly’, ‘hot as a volcano’ and ‘grainy sand’. Super word choices, well done! It sounds like you all had a great summer.
I love the way you have presented your work using Googledocs, and I’d like to find out a bit more about how you did this – was it easy to do? Did you all type your own work in? I’d appreciate any advice you have as I’d like to present work on our blog in a similar way, it looks fantastic!

    Thanks
