Patriots Football Game at Gillette Stadium – a student post by “Nugget”
Have you ever been to a American Football game? I went to one last month. As you probably guessed, it’s me, “Nugget”, on the left. (You might remember me from The Mathlete Show – Comparing Quarterbacks.)
At the Patriots game at Gillette Stadium
Well, this was actually the Houston Texans against the New England Patriots playoff game, on January 13, 2013, at Gillette Stadium.
This was a good game because both the Texans and the Patriots were 12-4 in this season. We got there kind of early, so it wasn’t that packed, so we could easily see them warming up.

Right before the game starts, in a playoff game, the home team runs out of a big inflatable helmet or their symbol, between giant sparklers.

Don’t you think it would be cool to be a professional sports player? I do, because I think playing sports is extremely fun!
From where we were sitting, this was what the view looked like. So, we had pretty good seats.

You would think that our flat screen tv’s are big, but they’re nothing compared to these:

The fans were going wild! It seemed like it was impossible that it would be even a little quiet.
It was good that the the score ended 41-28 for the Patriots!

Did you know that the win was Tom Brady’s 17th postseason victory? That is one more than Joe Montana, making Brady the winningest player in NFL playoff history!
Of course, there was a ton of cheering when the Pats scored, but there was also a lot of cheering when they got an interception, because it doesn’t happen often.
“Wow.” I thought before I went to sleep, “WOW!”

To Nugget:
My dad and I went to a Patriots game this season and watched them play the Arizona Cardinals. My dad has season tickets and I hope to go to more games next year. If I was a professional sports player, I would want to be the quarterback for the New England Patriots.

It sounds like you had a very fun time at this football game. It is very intresting that you got to see the players warming up before the game.
I have never been to a football game before, I would like to though. I would have wanted the Texans to win beacuse I was born in Texas, but my favorite team is the Dallas Cowboys. If I could be a professional athlete I would be a quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys.

If I could be a professional athlete in the N.F.L I would be so happy! Also my favorite football team is the New England Patriots. My favorite player would ether be Tom Brady or Rob Gronkowski. I have never been to a professional football game but I want to go some day.

Dear Nugget,
My favorite football team is the Patriots because I love all the players on their team. I have never been to an American football game but some day I hope I will. If I could be a professional athlete in any sport I would pick soccer because I am good at it and it is my favorite sport.

My dad just realized that he did go to that Pats game. He was one section over from you. What is your favorite player on the Pats? And would you want to be a football player? That would be cool. I want to be a football player.

Dear Collin,
My favorite player on the Patriots is Vince Wilfork. I like him because he is a fantastic defenseman and is kind of funny. Who is your favorite Patriot player?
It would be cool to be an NFL player, if I did become one then I would want to be on your team, if you play. But, I also like basketball, baseball, and soccer, so it is a hard decision.

I haven’t been to an American football game but I have been to a hockey game. Actually two; the Bruins played the Capitals and in the second game they played the Sabres. IT WAS FUN! Anyways, if I were a professional athlete I would be a right wing for the Boston Bruins.

It must have been fun going to the Patriots’ game. If I was going to pick my favorite football team I would pick the Giants. I like Eli Manning. If I was going to be a professional sports player I would be a wrestler.

The American football game sure was fun! I always try to think about what sport I would like to play when I grow up. It’s between baseball, soccer, and basketball. I guess I will do whatever I get best at. My favorite team is the Patriots, and my favorite player is Tom Brady. Even though I don’t like playing American Football, I still like following it. What sport would you like to play, Nugget?
